Emirates will keep flying to Russia unless its owner, the Dubai government, says stop

The boss of the airline told BBBC that Emirates will continue to fly to Russia unless its told to halt flights.

Most major international airlines pulled out of Russia amid sweeping sanctions imposed by Western countries since the war began in Ukraine.

Emirates plans to swap Boeing 777X for Dreamliner — EMIRATES

Emirates is one of the last major airlines to still fly to Moscow and St Petersburg.

Emirates president Sir Tim says the decision to keep flying was not his call, telling BBC its all up to the United Arab Emirates government.

As well as carrying passengers, the airline also transports cargo including humanitarian goods, food and medical supplies.

These are all essential items not on the sanctions list.
