Hong Kong has lost its position as a global aviation hub, that’s according to one airline trade association
The Head of the ‘International Air Transport Association’ says China’s strict COVID-zero policies have devastated the aviation hub.
Willie Walsh believes it’s also damaged the flagship carrier Cathay Pacific.
He says the airline is a “shadow” of its former glory and that the region has lost its global hub status altogether.
Of course, the airport was one of the world’s busiest before the pandemic brought the sector to a grinding halt.
All arrivals into Hong Kong must do three days of hotel quarantine and then medical surveillance.
