Why the U.S is considering Beijing Olympics boycott

US President Joe Biden has confirmed that his administration is considering a boycott of the Beijing Olympics

When meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Biden was pressed about the topic he responded saying it’s “something he’s considering”.

The boycott would mean that not a single US official would be in attendance at the opening of the Beijing Winter Olympics which are due to kick off in February.

This all follows activists pleading with the Biden administration and lawmakers to take a stand against China over the nation’s alleged genocide against Muslim ethnic groups in its western Xin-jiang region.

Beijing denies these allegations.
