Dead whales have been mysteriously washing ashore along the East Coast for months and activists are questioning if new offshore wind development is to blame.

Mayors and numerous environmental protection groups have pointed to the construction of offshore windmill projects for possibly playing a role in the death of several whales that have washed ashore.

The Department of Environmental Protection says there is no reason to blame offshore windmill projects.

But, after a second humpback whale washed up dead on the Atlantic City beach, activists are demanding answers, saying there is no record over the past 40-years of a half a dozen whales washing ashore in New York and New Jersey region.

The environmentalists sent a letter to President Joe Biden asking for an investigation into the whale deaths, and questioning if the development of offshore wind is harming the whales.
