Vice President Kamala Harris claimed that Florida’s new history curriculum is going to be used to teach students “that enslaved people benefited from slavery.”

During a speech in Jacksonville, Vice President Kamala Harris claimed that Florida’s new history curriculum is going to be used to teach students “that enslaved people benefited from slavery.”

The new curriculum, which was partially developed by Black scholar Dr. William B. Allen, actually states, “Instruction includes how slaves developed skills which, in some instances, could be applied for their personal benefit.”

This led to several critics accusing Harris of “brazenly lying” and “misleading” the American people during her speech.

Dr. Carol Swain, former professor of political science and law at Vanderbilt University and a best-selling author joins Veronica Dudo to discuss.
