VP JD Vance honors Charlie Kirk’s legacy by vowing to be a better husband and father after his friend’s tragic death.
Vice President JD Vance stepped behind the microphone to host The Charlie Kirk Show just days after his close friend’s assassination. Broadcasting from the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, Vance told listeners that the best way he could honour Kirk was by becoming a better husband and father.
The vice president reflected on a conversation with Kirk’s widow, Erika, who said her husband had never once raised his voice to her. Vance admitted he could not say the same of himself and vowed to learn from Kirk’s example.
Vance, who accompanied Kirk’s casket home to Arizona aboard Air Force Two, said filling in on the programme was a way of carrying his friend’s legacy forward – even if Kirk could never truly be replaced.
