Two powerful earthquakes have struck near Venezuela’s capital, leaving thousands feared dead and widespread destruction.

Rescue efforts are hindered by collapsed buildings and a lack of assistance, with hundreds confirmed dead and many still trapped.

International aid is being coordinated as the country’s main airport remains closed.
