An American journalist is among those who are dead in Ukraine.

Brent Renaud is an award-winning journalist, who was killed by Russian forces in Unpin, according to local police.

Police also say another American journalist was wounded by Russian troops.

An Advisor to Ukraine’s Interior Minister says Renaud “paid with his life for attempting to expose the cruelty and ruthlessness of the aggressor.”

The 50-year-old was a journalist and filmmaker who had previously worked for the New York Times.

TIME Magazine has responded to the death, in a statement, they say “We are devastated by the loss of Brent Renaud.”

“Brent tackled the toughest stories around the world often alongside his brother”.
