US approves further funding for Ukraine as existing funds quickly run dry

The US House has approved $40 billion in aid for Ukraine.

President Joe Biden is warning that existing funds to Ukraine will dry up within days.

The Senate is likely to rubber-stamp the aid package by the end of the week.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer says the Senate “will move swiftly” to pass the measure.

The Bill includes more funding for “Presidential Authority Funding” to $11 billion.

This allows the Biden administration to send military equipment and weapons from US stocks.

It’s been one of the main ways the United States government has helped Ukraine with military equipment over the past 75 days of conflict in Ukraine.
