Parcel delivery giant, UPS is planning a major hiring spree ahead of a busy holiday period ahead

UPS last week announced plans to hire more than 100,000 new staff which will be spread across the organisation throughout the 2021 holiday season.

In a statement, the delivery company stated that the new hires will support the “anticipated increase in annual package volume” that begins in October and runs through January.

The hiring spree includes full- and part-time seasonal positions, mainly package sorters, drivers, driver helpers and personal vehicle drivers

The company stated that on average it takes two weeks to go through the process of hiring a new staff member, and hence stated that now is the ‘right time’ to open job vacancies.

However, as the COVID pandemic continues, UPS stated that it encourages all candidates applying for a seasonal job to get vaccinated against the COVID-19.

The company further said it has followed all COVID-19 guidelines for essential workers since the beginning of the pandemic.
