The UK is set to almost double the defensive weaponry it’s sending to Ukraine

UK Defence Ministry intelligence says mercenaries from Russian private military companies are likely deploying to fight in Ukraine.

The British defence Secretary announced a huge cache of anti-tank weapons being sent.

This comes as Russia stands accused of bombing a maternity hospital in the city of Mariupol.

British Defence Secretary Ben Wallace announced almost a doubling of anti-tank missiles to be sent from the UK to Ukraine.

This brings the total short range anti-tank weapons from the UK to almost 4000.

Defence Secretary said the UK is also likely to send a small contingent of longer-distance Javelin anti-tank missiles.

In addition, the UK is considering sending Starstreak surface to air missiles to help in anti-aircraft efforts.

Starstreak missiles are the British Army equivalent of the US Stinger missiles.

This weaponry uses laser guidance instead of infrared targeting – reportedly making them more difficult to jam by enemy forces.

Foreign Secretary Liz Truss was giving a joint press conference with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken.

She reiterated why the UK was not establishing a No-Fly Zone.

The UK has impounded a private jet belonging to a Russian Oligarch

Britain seized the jet before it was due to make a flight from the UK to Dubai and it comes as all Russian owned, operated, chartered, and-or leased aircraft remain banned from UK airspace.

Reports in the UK suggest the individual Russian businessman himself is not on the sanctioned individuals list.

The use of the plane is still being investigated to determine if it falls afoul of the ban on Russian aircraft in UK skies.

Britain isn’t in the process of making the presence of Russian aircraft in UK skies an outright criminal offence.
