U.S. Supreme Court blocks vaccine or testing mandate

The U.S. Supreme Court has blocked President Biden’s vaccine or testing mandate for large businesses

The vaccine requirement for certain health care workers will continue to go into effect nationwide.

Biden’s plans were quashed after the court ruled Congress has not given the Occupational Safety and Health Administration the power to enact such a mandate.

The three liberal justices issued a scathing dissent following the publication of the decision.

In a statement, they say “when we are wise… we know not to displace the judgments of experts to deal with emergency conditions”.

If approved, Biden’s mandate would require employers with 100 or more employees to ensure staff are fully vaccinated or undergo regular testing.
