The court blocked a decision by a Texas District Judge

The U.S. Supreme Court is allowing an abortion pill to stay on the market for now.

The court blocked a decision by a Texas District Judge that had invalidated the FDA’s long-time approval of widely-used abortion drug, Mifepristone.

The decision offered a victory to the Biden administration as it defends access to the drug in the latest fierce legal battle over reproductive rights in the U.S.

Just hours before the Court blocked new restrictions, Vice President Kamala Harris sat down in an interview, telling the audience the government ‘should not be telling’ women what to do with their bodies.

“The drug was approved 20 years ago,” Harris said. “The government should not be telling women what to do with their bodies.

“This evokes, in my mind, fundamental rights about the right to freedom, about an individual to make a decision in relation to what is in their best interest.”
