Coordinated Strikes Escalate Amidst Houthi Retaliation Warnings and Regional Unrest

The US destroyed a Houthi missile for the third consecutive day, citing an “imminent threat” to Navy ships in the Red Sea. The strike, conducted in self-defence, aimed to protect nearby vessels.

The Houthi spokesperson vowed retaliation, asserting their campaign supported humanitarian efforts in Gaza. Tensions escalated with coordinated US and UK strikes on 30 Houthi sites in Yemen and the neutralization of 11 armed Houthi drones.

Overnight airstrikes on Iran-linked targets followed a drone attack in Jordan, leading to 39 casualties. The US Defence Secretary indicated these strikes were the beginning of the response to the Jordan attack.
