Shocking video shows the moment a New Jersey council-woman allegedly hit a cyclist, while rushing through an intersection

United States Council-woman Amy DeGise is in question over the alleged hit and run incident.

DeGise is being accused of failing to slow or stop her car after striking the cyclist at the intersection.

The cyclist was Andrew Black an UberEats deliveryman, who was wearing a helmet at the time. He was seen sliding off DeGise’s windscreen and slowly getting up afterwards.

“I look left, suddenly I just hear Ba[m]. I get hit, I roll over and I’m in such pain.”

Black fortunately didn’t suffer any injuries but is angry that a community leader didn’t stop to make sure he was safe.

“Someone of prestige [who is] demanding to uphold and clean our streets or whatever they’re calling it… can’t even do it themselves…It really upset me.”

Despite widespread outrage, DeGise is still refusing to resign.

The city’s Mayor, Steven Michael Fulop, says it was a “tremendous mistake” to leave the crash site, but is backing his councillor.
