‘No more business as usual’ – these are the words of the U.S. State Department in the wake of the executions of four pro-democracy activists in Myanmar

Spokesperson Ned Price is calling on all countries to unite and ban sales of military equipment to the nation.

He also warns of engaging in any action that would give the ruling military junta any international credibility.

The four activists were sentenced to death in secret trials between January and April, accused of helping a civilian resistance movement.

It is Myanmar’s first executions in decades, and has triggered global outcry.
