Twitter denies data is being sold online

Reports are suggesting up to 400 million Twitter users’ data had been allegedly leaked online.

Twitter has hit back at the claims, conducting an investigation of its own.

“The data is likely a collection of data already publicly available online through different sources,” the social media company tweeted.

“There is no evidence that data recently being sold was obtained by exploiting a vulnerability of systems.”

Twitter will continue to be in contact with the Data Protection authorities right around the world.
