Trump’s adjustments emphasize Iran’s nuclear obligations and the need to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

Concerns were raised about unfreezing Iranian assets, with Trump drawing comparisons to financial exchanges made during the Obama administration.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump asserted that Iran must commit to never developing nuclear weapons and that shipping through the Strait of Hormuz should remain toll-free.

A White House official indicated that the revisions were intended to motivate Iran to adhere to the current negotiations rather than propose a new framework.

Despite promises of a “final determination,” the meeting concluded without a clear decision on the agreement.

Iran’s chief negotiator, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, rebutted the proposed terms, insisting that Iran would not endorse any deal without assurances for its interests.

Ghalibaf stated that Iran’s rights would not be secured through dialogue alone, further emphasizing Tehran’s lack of trust in verbal agreements.

The current draft proposes a 60-day ceasefire, gradual reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, and discussions on Iran’s nuclear program.

In return, the U.S. would alleviate some naval blockades, yet substantial disagreements remain over financial relief, which Trump has firmly opposed.

Iran’s economy continues to face significant challenges, with predictions indicating potential negative growth and an increase in poverty levels.

Ongoing tensions

The U.S. House will vote on a resolution aimed at limiting Trump’s military actions without Congress’s approval regarding the ongoing conflict.

Senate approval of the resolution highlights bipartisan support for reducing U.S. military involvement after more than two months of unapproved military engagements.
