Trump’s appeal formally rejected by White House
Former US President Donald Trump’s latest request for privilege regarding documents related to the January 6 Capitol riot have been formally rejected by The White House
Trump appealed for executive privilege to shield from lawmakers a subset of documents that had been requested by the House committee for investigation.
Not only did the government reject this request, they also set an aggressive timeline for their release.
The Biden administration had already informally stated their decision to not assert executive privilege on Friday, and confirmed this announcement today.
