Trump may soon return to Facebook

The world could soon see a return of Donald Trump to Facebook.

Facebook’s ‘Independent Content Oversight Board’ is gearing up to announce whether or not the social media giant will once again give Donald Trump a voice on the platform.

The former President’s Facebook and Instagram account was blocked following the US Capitol riots.

Trump was accused of inciting the violence on the January 6 attacks.

Although the ban was initially temporary, it was later changed to an indefinite suspension.

At the time, CEO Mark Zuckerberg agreed with the board saying, “the risks of allowing the president to continue to use Facebook during this period were simply too great.”

The Board says last month it had received almost ten thousand public responses concerning Trump’s indefinite suspension from Facebook and Instagram.

In a tweet, the oversight board says it will announce the binding decision later this week.
