TikTok to set daily screen limit

Published

TikTok is setting a 60-minute daily screen limit for users under the age of 18.

The video app says it is introducing the feature to help people stay in control of their use, and not go down viewing rabbit holes.

If young people hit the time limit, users will have to enter a passcode to continue using it throughout the day.

Users on the platform need to be at least 13.

Anyone under the age of 18 will also get a weekly notification with their screen time.

If a user opts out of the new 60-minute restriction – but goes on to use the app for 100 minutes a day – they will receive a prompt from TikTok to set their own screen time controls.
