The spy who loved me – the agent who used status to haunt partner

Published

on

There are new reports an MI5 agent used his covert status to terrorise his partner before moving abroad to continue working for the intelligence agency

An investigation into the man has found he threatened to kill the woman, even using a machete to attack her.

The individual remains nameless after the government took British public broadcaster, the BBC, to court in order to block the story from being published.

In the high-stakes legal battle, the BBC argues the public has aright to know the spy’s name, as this will help protect potential future victims from harm.

Although the court rejected this initial argument, the broadcaster was successful in one element of the case, granted permission to publish the wide-ranging investigation.

Reports suggest he is a right-wing extremist with a violent past, meeting the woman on a dating site.

She says the secret agent used his position within the British security services to terrorise her, alleging he collected weapons and made her watch terrorist videos of executions.

The victim says it all ultimately led to her having a breakdown because she became so afraid of everything.
