A Japanese coastal town has spent $300 thousand dollars of their $200 million COVID relief package on a squid!

The town spent pretty big to build a statue of a nine-meter-long Squid, in a bid to boost tourism.

No doubt many have taken to social media – some are loving the artwork while others are criticising the way the town has spent the money.
