Taiwan’s outgoing President Tsai Ing-wen plans to flee in a U.S. plane if war erupts with China, according to an unsubstantiated report first published in 2021.

China has dispatched a fleet of warplanes into Taiwan’s air defence identification zone (ADIZ) just hours after a phone call between Chinese President Xi Jinping and US President Joe Biden.

The call, described as “substantive” and “candid” by the White House, covered various issues including Taiwan.
