Musk acknowledged the announcement of the inquiry, expressing his approval.
Rapid audit
Interior minister Yvette Cooper initiated a rapid audit of gang-based exploitation earlier this year, led by former senior official Louise Casey.
Reports suggest that Casey will indicate that vulnerable white British girls have been “institutionally ignored” by authorities concerned about potential accusations of racism.
Starmer indicated that Casey initially did not see the need for a national inquiry but has since changed her perspective based on her findings.
He affirmed that he has thoroughly reviewed Casey’s report and will follow her recommendation for an inquiry.
Kemi Badenoch, leader of the Conservative Party, stated that Starmer’s decision was overdue and that she has been advocating for a full national inquiry since January. She explained the urgency for survivors, stating they need resolution in a timely manner.
