Google is set to introduce a long desired feature to handle incoming calls.
With the upcoming “Lookup” button in the beta version of the Google Phone app, users can seamlessly search for the identity of unknown callers directly from their recent calls screen.
This innovative tool, highlighted by X user AssembleDebug and reported by PiunikaWeb, fills a glaring gap in our smartphone experience by offering instant access to information about incoming numbers.
While the Google Phone app is native to Pixel phones, it’s available for download on other Android devices as well.
Positioned alongside options like “Block” and “History,” the Lookup button provides a timely solution to the persistent issue of spam calls and spoofed numbers. Its arrival underscores the ongoing efforts to enhance user privacy and security in an increasingly digital age.
Alongside these features Google is also working on adding Gemini email summaries to the Android version of the Gmail application.
