There are fears for the health of jailed Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny, following reports his prison conditions have worsened

Navalny was arrested in 2021 after returning to Russia from Germany, surviving what scientists confirmed was a near-fatal dose of poison.

The Kremlin critic’s chief of staff says his current prison conditions are threatening his health.

Taking to Twitter, Navalny wrote just last week that was sent to a punishment cell for a third time in August, revenge for his political activity.

It comes as his Anti-Corruption Foundation prepares for the upcoming local elections in Moscow.

Navalny’s chief of staff says the political group is taking an ‘anti-war’ stance.
