Airlines across Russia are reporting a 20 per cent drop in passenger numbers from last year
Western sanctions are wreaking havoc on Russia’s aviation industry.
The sector has seen a drop on passengers by 20 per cent, from September last year.
Moscow’s war in Ukraine led to many western countries banning Russian airlines from using their airspace.
Meanwhile, manufacturers like Airbus and Boeing have also stopped selling planes and parts to Russia.
Some Russian companies have been forced to use old parts in lieu of repairs from manufacturers.
