The dress that had everyone talking during this year’s Met Gala is again making headlines

Kim Kardashian was dressed in Marilyn Monroe’s famous dress, which was originally worn while singing Happy Birthday to John F Kennedy in 1962.

But in Instagram photos shared by the account of Marilyn Monroe’s collection, the dress was returned heavily damaged.

The profile posted a side by side photo of before and after the iconic dress was worn, with the latest image showing tears, missing and hanging crystals and stretched material.

‘Ripleys Believe It Or Not’ says “great care was taken to preserve this piece of pop culture history” with “no alterations” made to the dress and Kim changing “into a replica after the red carpet”.

The U.S museum has denied claims that an iconic Marilyn Monroe gown was left damaged.

A Ripley executive says “From the bottom of the Met steps, where Kim got into the dress, to the top where it was returned, the dress was in the same condition it started in,”

Ripley’s said that a condition report from 2017 stated “a number of the seams are pulled and worn.

The iconic number is now estimated to be worth more than $10 million.
