Joe Biden is under fire from Republicans in Congress who have called for the President’s resignation

Several Republican senators have called for US President Biden to resign. This comes after a terrorist attack in Kabul killed 13 US service members last week.

The GOP lawmakers are pushing for Biden to either resign, or for his impeachment. Some are even calling for leaders to use the 25th Amendment used to end his presidency.

The Republican outcry comes as the 2022 US midterm elections approach.

The party is eagerly trying to demonstrate how they would provide a necessary oversight on the Biden administration if voters provided them with the House and Senate.

Representative Jackie Walorski of the Ethics Committee says “President Biden has demonstrated that he is unfit to serve as commander-in-chief and, therefore, must resign”.

Meanwhile, Republican Senator Mitt Romney says the situation that we are seeing unfold on the ground in Afghanistan is the result of bad decisions of two administrations. He blamed not only Biden, but also Trump.

Is Biden likely to resign?

Of course, it is very unlikely that President Biden is going anywhere when the House of Representatives is controlled by the Democrats.

This is particularly certain as the party desperately tries to enact trillions of spending in domestic programs.

However, Biden’s Afghanistan withdrawal is likely to have an impact on voters. It could potentially put Republicans back into power come 2022.
