For the first time in 70 years, Queen Elizabeth will not return to London to appoint Britains new Prime Minister

Queen Elizabeth II will not return to London to swear in Britain’s new Prime Minister, instead they will travel to her in Scotland.

Outgoing Prime Minister Boris Johnson and his successor will meet Her Majesty at Balmoral Castle, instead of Buckingham Palace.

The next U.K. leader will be announced on September 5, and the meeting in Scotland will happen the following day, on September 6.
