The Queen has addressed world leaders at the global climate summit in Glasgow

Her majesty the Queen sent in a pre-recorded video to COP-26, urging governments around the world to take the climate fight seriously.

The Queen, had been scheduled to attend the United Nations conference in Glasgow but was last week advised by doctors to stay home and rest.

She sent in the pre-recorded video to make up for her absence.

The 95 year-old monarch says it’s now up to leaders of nations to create a “safer, stabler future” for the planet.

It’s understood she pre-recorded her address last week at Windsor Castle after being advised to rest following medical checks

The Prince of Wales and Duke of Cambridge are both attending the COP26 conference, which is seen as a crucial gathering if temperature increases and climate changes are to be limited.

She paid tribute to her late husband Prince Philip in her address, stating the “impact of the environment on human progress was a subject close to the heart” of her late husband.

She recalled the Duke of Edinburgh’s warning to a 1969 academic gathering in which he spoke of the dangers of failing to address pollution.
