President Vladimir Putin has denied a state funeral for the late Mikhail Gorbachev

Putin has confirmed he will not receive state funeral honours, but will get a modified version instead.

Gorbachev will be farewelled at a public ceremony in Moscow’s Hall of Columns, with the help of the state.
