Russian President Vladimir Putin has said he’s ready to engage with U.S. President-elect Donald Trump.
Putin also praised Trump’s resilience during an assassination attempt earlier this year, noting his admiration for Trump’s behaviour.
The Kremlin views Trump’s victory as a potential game-changer, with Russian elites seeing an opportunity to fracture Western unity on Ukraine and reshape global power.
In Moscow, Trump’s win is being hailed as a success for conservative, isolationist forces that Russia supports in opposition to a liberal, Western-dominated global order.
Russian ideologue Alexander Dugin, celebrating the outcome, declared on X, “The world will be never ever like before. Globalists have lost their final combat.”
Konstantin Kosachev, a senior Russian lawmaker, said Trump’s victory is a blow to “left-liberal forces” and a shift away from the Obama-Clinton legacy supported by Europe.
