Russian President Vladimir Putin will continue to lead Russia after his party secured yet another victory in the nation’s parliamentary election

With almost all of the ballots counted, this year’s election has been plagued with numerous reports of voter fraud.

Meanwhile, some of Putin’s biggest critics were prevented from running altogether, as stories of forced voting and ballot stuffing surfaced.

The Russian Electoral Commission has denied these claims.

Around 99 percent of the votes have now been counted… with Putin’s United Russia party securing two-thirds of the 450 parliamentary seats available.

However, despite the landslide victory, the group did lose some of its previously gained ground.

In 2016, the party secured 54 percent of the total vote, as opposed to just under 50 percent this year.

The Communists party saw its support increase by around 6 percent.
