The U.S doesn’t really care about Ukraine’s actual interest, that’s according to Russian President Vladimir Putin has to say

He believes the U.S is just using Ukraine as a tool to constrain Russia, saying the states have ignored Russia’s concerns.

Putin was speaking after talks with Hungarian Prime Minister in Moscow and he asked what would happen if Ukraine was allowed to join Nato and then tried to take Crimea back from Russia.

And when it comes to NATO, he attacked the idea.

Russia was swift to deny any western accusations that it is planning an invasion

Moscow is accusing the Ukrainian government of failing to implement an international deal to restore peace to the eastern regions

Speaking to reporters in Moscow Putin says the United States main task is to contain Russia’s development, ignoring Moscow’s concerns

He says “Imagine that Ukraine is a Nato member and a military operation begins”

“What – are we going to fight with Nato? Has anyone thought about this?

This is the first time that Putin has commented publicly about the crisis with Ukraine in weeks, also flagging that dialog over Ukraine would continue

There’s still over one hundred thousand Russian troops along its border with Ukraine and the concern remains that Putin could give his troops a greenlight to invade Ukraine.
