Authorities in Chesapeake, Virginia have identified the suspected shooter who opened fire at a Walmart store as Andre Bing.

Police released an image on Wednesday of the 31-year-old Walmart employee who was armed with a pistol and allegedly opened fire Tuesday night, killing six people and injuring at least six others.

According to Chesapeake Police Chief Mark G. Solesky said at a news briefing that with less than an hour before the store was set to close, the employee carried out the shooting and then fatally shot himself.

The tragic incident occurred during a busy Thanksgiving shopping week at the Walmart Supercenter.

This particular location was a large store that sold everything from groceries to clothes and even small appliances.

The alleged gunman was an overnight manager and had worked at Walmart since 2010.

Chesapeake officials said the shooter acted alone and his motive remains under investigation.
