Initial findings suggest the missile that hit Poland was fired by Ukrainian forces at an incoming Russian missile, according to US officials

Associated Press reported the news on Wednesday, citing U.S. officials.

It comes as U.S. President Joe Biden speaks with Poland’s President following the attack.

Polish authorities confirmed the missile killed two people.

In Bali for G20 Summit, Biden says NATO allies are still collecting evidence.

The attack could be a potential escalation to the ongoing war and marks the first time weapons have impacted a NATO country.

Under Article 5 of NATO, an attack on one country is considered an attack on all.

Ukraine’s President Zelensky says “This is a Russian missile attack on collective security. This is a very significant escalation. We must act.”
