Amidst a devastating situation in Hawaii, Paris Hilton and her partner, Carter Reum, were captured in carefree vacation photos, sparking outrage on social media.

The heiress and Reum were seen kissing in the ocean while carrying their baby boy Phoenix, seemingly oblivious to the recent disaster that has left over 95 people dead and nearly 1000 missing.

The photos depict the couple strolling along the shoreline of a resort in Wailea, located merely 48km away from the destruction in Lahaina. Their nonchalant demeanor in the midst of the tragedy elicited strong reactions online.

Social media users expressed anger and disbelief, with one individual humorously referencing Hilton’s famous catchphrase, “That’s hot,” in relation to the wildfire devastation. Others criticized the couple for their insensitivity, especially considering the authorities’ call for tourists to leave the island due to the ongoing crisis.

Paris Hilton has refrained from sharing any images from her Maui holiday on Instagram. Merely a day prior, she had posted pictures from her recent vacation in Greece.

The controversial images emerged shortly after actor Jason Momoa implored tourists to avoid visiting Maui due to the raging wildfires. Momoa, known for his role in “Aquaman,” took to Instagram to discourage travel to the island, emphasizing the devastating impact the fires have had on the local community and resources.

The island’s non-profit organization ʻĀina Momona supported Momoa’s plea, highlighting the need for the island’s resources to be preserved for recovery and healing. The post underscored the lasting impact of the tragedy on Maui and urged tourists to prioritize the community’s well-being.
