The National Transport Safety Bureau has handed down its first report into that destructive train derailment in Ohio

The train was carrying hazardous chemicals through East Palestine.

While no cause of the derailment has been released, investigators are focusing on one car’s wheel set and bearing.

This wheel was in late-stage overheat failure shortly before the incident.

The report says the train’s engineer applied the train’s brakes after the alert of an overheating axle.

Meanwhile, the federal agency has also revealed the ‘rare’ steps it will be taking to get to the bottom of this disaster.

The report comes as Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg visited the town, facing criticism for not going there sooner.

In Washington, the White House also fended off criticism regarding Joe Biden’s response.
