North Korea’s leader Kim Jong-Un has vowed to build an “invincible military”

The North Korean leader is putting blame on the United States for the escalating tensions in the Korean Peninsula and struggling relations between the South.

Kim says that weapons development is for self-defence, and is not intended to to start a war.

North Korea has recently tested new hypersonic and anti-aircraft missiles, leaving many surrounding nations concerned.

The latest development from the North follows a speech at a Defence Exhibition held in Pyongyang, where Kim said his nation did not want to fight its southern neighbour.

Mr. Kim says “we are not discussing war with anyone, but rather to prevent war itself”.

U.S. President Joe Biden has said he is willing to talk to North Korea, but has demanded the nation gives up its nuclear weapons before sanctions can be eased.
