North Korea launches missile from train

New satellite images reveal North Korea is dramatically expanding a key military facility that could be capable of enriching uranium used for nuclear weapons

The images suggest that the rogue nation may be planning on ramping up its production of weapons as construction at the facility gets underway.

Experts believe the construction is similar to previous efforts in which North Korea added floor space at the facility in a bid to house more centrifuges and therefore enrich more uranium.

The new area is around 1,000 square metres, which is enough space to house 1,000 additional devices.

Meanwhile, US officials are aware of these recent developments and beleive that this could signal North Korea’s intention to increase the production of weapons-grade uranium.

This all follows the country launching two short-range ballistic missiles into waters off the east coast of the Korean Peninsula in the latest weapons test.
