It’s a policy that’s been described as “confusing and ridiculous” by the biggest name in basketball, but it’s finally about to change and it has huge ramifications for the NBA

ESPN is reporting that ‘New York Mayor Eric Adams‘ will lift the city’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate on athletes this week, paving the way for Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving to play at the Barclays Center on Sunday and for unvaccinated New York Yankees and Mets players to play in their April home openers.

Irving is unvaccinated but was recently allowed to sit court-side when his Brooklyn Nets were playing that led LeBron James to describe the policy as ridiculous.

Its huge news for the New York team who are sit in 8th place in the Eastern Conference. Irving has missed 35 home games this season, when he has played he averages 27.7 points in 19 games.
