The doll has Down Syndrome, and features a pink necklace and three chevrons
There’s a new Barbie hitting shelves to help kids feel better represented.
The doll has Down Syndrome, and features a pink necklace and three chevrons – the genetic material making up three copies of the 21st chromosome.
The company’s owners say the doll will help all children to see themselves.
It partnered with the National Down Syndrome Society to help bring the doll to life.
Around 6,000 babies are born with the condition in the U.S. each year.
As for the dolls, well they’re already available on pre-sale.
