Nancy Pelosi is traumatised following an attack on her husband is their home.

Paul Pelosi underwent surgery to repair a skull fracture and other injuries after he was assaulted at his San Francisco home on Friday.

However, his doctors believe he will make a full recovery.

The perpetrator had been reportedly posting right-wing conspiracy theories online, as President Joe Biden describes the attack as “despicable”.

In a statement, the House Speaker says: “a violent man broke into our family home, demanded to confront me and brutally attacked my husband Paul. Our children, our grandchildren and I are heartbroken and traumatised by the life-threatening attack on our Pop.”

It comes as the President calls for the country to unite together. Biden is pushing to stamp out these acts of violence.
