Myanmar’s military government has criticised calls for a special envoy to meet bodies that opposed last year’s coup

It comes as representatives from ASEAN seek to meet all parties involved the conflict.

Malaysia is leading calls to meet with the National Unity Government a group made up of members of the ousted administration and other opponents.

But the Junta are calling these opponents “terrorists” and has urged leaders not to engage with them.

Myanmar’s Junta has had control over the nation for over year, after ousting the previous leader Aung San Suu Kyi.

More than 1,500 civilians have been killed in a crackdown against Junta opponents.
