Famed YouTube star MrBeast, also known as Jimmy Donaldson, has filed a lawsuit against Virtual Dining Concepts, the company responsible for producing his popular MrBeast Burger, alleging that the served meals were “inedible” due to severely undercooked meats.
The lawsuit, filed in New York District Court, seeks to terminate the business relationship, claiming “irreparable harm” to MrBeast’s reputation.
The complaint asserts that Virtual Dining Concepts neglected to focus on controlling the quality of the MrBeast Burger customer experience, resulting in a misleading and poor reflection of the MrBeast brand. Complaints from customers cited in the lawsuit included food delivered late, missing ordered items, unbranded packaging, and in some cases, inedible meals.
MrBeast’s burger operation, with hundreds of virtual locations worldwide, has faced scathing reviews, with customers sharing photos of undercooked chicken and missing ingredients on social media. Despite the negative feedback, the business has made millions in revenue, but MrBeast claims that he has not received any profits.
The lawsuit highlights that more than half of the virtual MrBeast Burger locations have received ratings of two stars or less on platforms like Yelp, reflecting the damage to the brand’s reputation.
Donaldson’s lawyers state that he made numerous complaints about quality control, but they were disregarded, forcing him to take legal action. He is seeking unspecified financial damages and aims to terminate the MrBeast business partnership with Virtual Dining Concepts.
