Almost as many Americans are getting their news on the war in Ukraine from social media as they are from television networks.

The new data by the National Research Group showed that 58 per cent were learning about the conflict through social media while 65 per cent were educating themselves through TV.

The poll focussed on Americans between the ages of 13 to 54.

But looking globally, people between 18 to 24 receive news from social media at higher rates than from television with 67 per cent logging in online for their news.
