Microsoft is slashing 11,000 jobs due to slowing demand.

The company is planning to cut recruiting staff by one-third, and some teams within the organisation already have a hiring freeze.

The layoffs would be the latest in the U.S. tech sector, which has previously seen companies such as Amazon and Meta do the same.

The tech giant had 221,000 full-time employees as of June last year.

Microsoft has declined to comment on the matter.
