If your diet is Mediterranean – you’re more likely to live longer!

A new study has found a quintessentially European meal plan can lower the risk of a heart attack, stroke and even early death for hundreds of millions of people.

Those who have an increased risk of cardiovascular disease are the biggest beneficiaries.

If you’re you’ve heard this all before – you probably have.

A diet rich in olive oil, nuts, seafood, whole grains and vegetables has long been linked to a number of benefits.

Its effectiveness in helping healthy people to live longer is well known.

But, until now, there has been limited evidence of how it might help those at increased risk of cardiovascular disease.

This includes hundreds of millions of people living with obesity, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure or high cholesterol.

So what should you eat and what should you stay away from?

Foods to eat include: Vegetables, Fruits Nuts, seeds, Legumes, Whole grains, Fish and seafood, Poultry, Eggs and dairy.

But stay away from Added sugar, Refined grains, Trans fats, Refined oils Processed meats and highly processed foods.
